Terms

This site is published by Eraldo Federico Acchiappati, reachable through the contact form. Reading it means these terms apply between us. They are short because the site is simple: there is nothing to buy, no account to hold, and nothing of yours held here.

The work

Unless a piece says otherwise, everything published here, the words, the images, the drawings, and the code that draws them, is owned by us or licensed to us.

You may read it, print it, link to it, and quote from it with attribution and a link back. That is ordinary practice and needs no permission from us.

You may not republish a piece in full, translate it, or put it behind your own masthead without asking. Ask through the contact form; the answer is usually yes and usually quick.

Text and data mining

We reserve the rights to text and data mining under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790, including for the training of machine learning and generative models. This reservation applies to the whole site, and it is made here in words. It is not yet expressed in a form a crawler reads on its own.

What we do not promise

The work is published in good faith and we correct it when it is wrong. Beyond that we make no warranty: not that the site will be available, not that it will be free of error, and not that anything in it is advice you should act on. It is journalism and commentary. It is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice of any kind, and it should not be used as a substitute for someone who owes you a duty of care.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability to you for anything arising out of your use of this site is limited to the amount you paid to read it, which is nothing.

Corrections

If something published here is wrong, tell us through the contact form. Substantive corrections are made in the piece and noted on it, rather than edited away in silence. The site's public commit history records every change either way.

Links out

We link to other sites. We do not control them, we are not responsible for them, and a link is not an endorsement.

Behaving here

You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live, to use this site. There is no comment box, no upload, and no account, so the ways to misuse this site are mostly technical. Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to it, and do not scrape it in a way that degrades it for other readers.

Changes

These terms change when what the site does changes, and the date at the top is when the current version took effect. Continuing to read after a change means the new version applies. Earlier versions stay in the public commit history.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Luxembourg, and the courts of Luxembourg have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, nor of the right to bring a claim there.
